Fujin's name - according to my limited amount of Japanese and help from others :D
According to the lovely Yuri of Aquawings.net, her name may mean something like this:
"I was reading a little on your Fuujin site, and I came across the name-section. I thought you may be interested in the fact that if you literally translate her name, it means "wind person" (as "fuu" means "wind" [in fact, it can also mean "style", but it's written with the same kanji as wind is] and "jin" is another reading for "hito", which means "human" or "person"; thus, "rai-jin" also means "thunder person") - that, in any case, was concluded without having seen the kanji themselves, though."
Reading that, I remembered that the Kanji on her shoulder plate is the kanji for wind (sort of). You can check out the kanji for wind here, and a picture of Fujin's shoulder plate here. Though, as you can plainly see, they aren't exactly alike. It doesn't really look like the Chinese character for wind either (seen here). If anyone has any info about what character it is, please do share!
As well, Raijin's shoulder means "lightning," and looks quite a bit more like this than Fujin's looks like hers.
On a mythological note, Fujin is "the Japanese god of the wind and one of the eldest Shinto gods. He was present at the creation of the world and when he first let the winds out of his bag, they cleared the morning mists and filled the space between heaven and earth so the sun shone. He is portrayed as a terrifying dark demon wearing a leopard skin, carrying a large bag of winds on his shoulders." (source: encyclopedia mythica)
Sounds like Pandemona, eh? Is this perhaps hinting at something? Who knows! This does make sense though, seeing as she did carry the wind gf Pandemona, uses wind magic, and is immune to wind when you fight her.
On a side note, Raijin is also a Shinto god. You can find more about him @ Encyclopedia Mythica as well. Seifer isn't a god though (not that I know of). Sorry.
(Thanks to Encyclopedia Mythica, Japanese calligraphy, About.com, and Yuri!)
